Steve Begin signs with Nashville Predators

While listening to The Montreal Forum on The Team 990 I was glad to hear that former Boston Bruins center Steve Begin had signed with the Nashville Predators.

TSN.ca reported that his deal is a one-year, two way contract worth $550,000 and that Steve is scheduled to head to the Predators’ AHL affiliate in Milwaukee for a conditioning stint before joining the Preds.

The 32-year old, Trois-Rivieres, Quebec native has been an unrestricted free-agent since his one-year deal in Boston expired on July 1.  Begin played in 77 games for the Bruins last season, picking up five goals and nine assists.  He also scored once in 13 Bruins’ playoff games.  Out of 486 career games played with the Flames, Canadiens, Stars and Bruins, he has a total of 52 goals and 48 assists to go along with 535 minutes in penalties.
